Bolonka Breed

THE RUSSIAN TSVETNAYA BOLONKA

Social, Loyal, Loving, and Playful. They tend to be little clowns and will twirl and dance on command. The Bolonka breed is a fairly easily trained small companion dog that loves a schedule with you. They’re not an aggressive dog, easygoing and they get along with cats and other dogs. You can take them anywhere due to their size which is around 5-10 lbs.

What distinguishes the Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka from all other toy dog breeds is their wonderful easy-going temperament.

A Bolonka pup is a great companion for senior citizens as well as children. A “Tsvetnaya Bolonka” pup does not require a lot of space so they’re excellent for people that live in the city or apartments. They’re very social animals and bond quickly with their human companions.

We’re a current member in good standing with the officially recognized Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka Club of America (RTBCA)

A Brief History Russian Bolonka or Tsvetnaya Bolonka the perfect “colored lap dog” is also known as Bolonka Zwetna in Germany. The ancestors of the Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka migrated to Russia with Napoleon’s army. During the Soviet Regime, dogs were not imported to Russia, so the Bolonka breed was developed from existing breeds like the Bichon, Toy Poodle, Shi Tzu, & Pekingese. The Bolonka breed gained popularity after the Russian Revolution, but their export was strictly regulated.  The AKC added the Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka to the Foundation Stock Service Program in 2015.

For more information on this rare beautiful Russian Bolonka breed you can go to the Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka club website at RTBCA.com or visit the AKC Info Page
